Privacy Policy

The short version

Rust Learn Steps collects nothing. The app has no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, no telemetry pings, no third-party tracking, and no cloud sync. Your study data lives in on-device Hive storage and never leaves your phone unless you explicitly export it.

What data the app handles

The app stores the following on your device only:

• Ticket statuses (known / needs-review / unread) you set yourself
• Spaced repetition schedule entries derived from those statuses
• System Design and Mock interview attempt history (your self-rubric scores)
• Bookmarks and personal notes you create
• Tutorial lesson completion markers
• App preferences (theme, daily goal, content translation locale)

All of the above lives in on-device Hive storage under the app's private data directory — sandboxed by iOS and Android so other apps cannot read it. Uninstalling the app removes all of it.

What data leaves the device

Nothing automatically. The app makes no outbound network requests during normal use.

Two user-initiated actions can move data off the device, and only when you tap them:

• Export progress (Settings → Backup) writes a JSON snapshot of your study state to your device's share sheet. You decide where to send it (email, messaging app, cloud drive, Files). The destination is your choice; the app does not pre-select one.
• Share progress (Statistics → share icon) opens the share sheet with a plain-text summary of your numbers. Same model: you pick the destination.

Third-party services

The app does not embed any third-party SDK that collects user data. The Flutter framework, the Hive storage library, and the platform's own iOS / Android system libraries are the only dependencies. None of these phone home from this app.

Children's privacy

The app does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If the privacy stance ever changes — for example, if a future version adds optional cloud sync — this page will be updated and the in-app About section will surface the change before any data leaves the device.
